Technology gives us as teachers the ability to provide students with additional tools and resources to help all students achieve their learning goals.
Here are some resource ideas:
- Have the students write on Word or Google Docs. Spell check is a great confidence booster for students with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia. It helps them catch and correct their mistakes.
- Read & Write for Google Chrome- This Chrome extension allows students to hear the words, highlight in various colors, and even a built in dictionary. Text can be translated to other languages in order to aid ELL students. Allows you to create and listen to voice notes. There’s a free premium subscription for teachers at rw.texthelp.com/freeforteachers after installing the Read&Write for Google Chrome trial.
- EduPlace- offers a lot of graphic organizers to help student writers organize their ideas and writing. Upload the pdf to Google Docs to modify it or install DocHub.
- Read Write & Think- provides a variety of interactive writing and reading tools.
